Lowertown East – Walking Tour

August 7 - 14:00 - 15:30

Lowertown East, bounded by Rideau Street, King Edward Avenue, and the Rideau River, has been home to many important religious, residential and civic buildings. Despite a controversial 1970s urban redevelopment, it is a walkable neighbourhood with a strong multicultural history. The tour will focus on the built heritage adjacent to the heritage-designated Macdonald Gardens, an area with a long history and several architecturally designed homes.

GUIDE: Nancy Miller Chenier is the co-chair of the Lowertown Community Association Heritage Committee and long-time resident of Lowertown East.

Heritage Ottawa Members: $10 | Non-Members: $25

Space is Limited — Pre-Registration and Pre-Payment is required

Please Note: Free Parking is available by the Lowertown Pool and Patro d’Ottawa (accessed off Cobourg from Clarence Street).
