In this presentation, staff from the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) will share genealogical research possibilities for the Canadiana collections. They will present a brief overview of the history and materials in the collections before diving into possible research avenues and approaches for both Canadiana (digitized historical publications, published prior to 1921) and Héritage (Library and Archives Canada’s most popular archival collections). Using examples from community researchers who have consulted the Canadiana collections in the past, they will share examples of the different types of materials in the collections that can support genealogical research.
