It was an honour to be invited to address the Halton Region Making Heritage Happen in Halton conference April 6th at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington. There was much to share and learn with one hundred participants from across the region (Hamilton, Burlington, Milton, Bronte, St. Catharines, etc.) as well as from the Simcoe region, Myseum Toronto, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport and Ontario Museum Association. A highlight and timely inspiration for all leading into the Vimy 100th Anniversary celebrations was a presentation on the fast track (and touching) transformation of the Remembrance Hall of the Royal Canadian Legion into an attractive visitor museum, a feat undertaken by Halton Region’s dedicated staff.
And here in Ottawa, Congratulations! go to our colleagues at the Canadian Museum Association on their successful Game Changer conference April 4-7, which welcomed close to 600 people from across the country to Ottawa during the Sesquicentennial.
