Land Acknowledgement

Capital Heritage Connexion recognizes that the National Capital Region is located on the unceded and unsurrendered Territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation. The Algonquin People have inhabited and cared for these lands since time immemorial. We take this time to show our gratitude and regard to them and the land for all it provides us.

We acknowledge this traditional territory’s significance, extending our respect to the Métis, Inuit, and First Nations Indigenous Peoples who lived and continue to live upon it and whose practices and spirituality are tied to the land.

We appreciate the relationship the Anishinaabe Algonquin People continue to foster with other inhabitants today and we recognize their history, one predating the establishment of the state of Canada. Capital Heritage Connexion is committed to supporting the reconciliation plan for Canada.

Our Vision

Our well connected heritage and history communities contribute to the Capital area’s vitality, and are recognized as having intrinsic value.

Our Mission

To connect, promote, and strengthen the Capital area’s heritage and history communities by creating opportunities for collaboration and development as well as provide cultural leadership.
