Thank you to the 139 participants that attended the Emerging Cultural Professionals Conference (ECPC), making it a resounding success!
The Emerging Cultural Professionals Conference (ECPC) was a one day bilingual conference for post-secondary students and young adults who were interested in pursuing and advancing a career in the cultural and heritage industry. ECPC took place on Saturday March 21, from 9:00 AM until 5:30 PM at Ottawa City Hall. The conference included a keynote speaker and educational workshops focused on strategies for gaining employment in the heritage and cultural sector. Topics such as fundraising, event planning, job searching, continuing education, and strategic volunteering were covered. The Cultural Circuit and the beer/wine & cheese Social provided a great opportunity to do some one-on-one networking with Ottawa’s cultural and heritage professionals. Everyone was able to learn from professional’s experiences and get insider tips on finding, creating, and applying for their dream job.
This conference was presented with the financial support of the City of Ottawa and in partnership with the Ontario Museum Association, Algonquin College, Ontario Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities, Cartier Place Suites Hotel and Ottawa Museum Network.
