Vanier Museopark welcomes the famous editorial cartoonist BADO
Guy Badeaux was born in Montreal on May 21st 1949. After studying at the Art Institute and spending a year in Europe, BADO publishes his first cartoons in La Gazette, Le Devoir’s art section, La Presse’s sports section and on the editorial page of Jour Hebdo. At first involved in counter-culture journals such as Mainmise and Temps Fou as well as the humour magazine Croc, BADO decides, just shy of his 30th birthday, to join Le Droit newspaper as daily cartoonist.
It is our great pleasure to inaugurate this exhibition at Vanier Museopark; retracing the iconic career of Guy Badeaux – BADO, spanning close to 40 years, at Le Droit newspaper. The exhibit, BADO, Francophonie in Broad Strokes will be inaugurated on Tuesday, November 19th from 5 to 7 PM and light refreshments will be served to mark the occasion
