The International Day of Monuments and Sites, also known as World Heritage Day, is marked each year on April 18.
On April 18, 2019 , ICOMOS Canada and NSERC CREATE Heritage Engineering will host a free symposium that examines the development, management and impacts on rural landscapes in Canada through the lenses of cultural and natural heritage.
Entitled Conservation and Sustainability Challenges to Maintaining Canada’s Rural Landscapes, the symposium will feature six notable professionals discussing such topics as the relevance of rural landscapes in our day-to-day lives, the challenges encompassing their use and conservation, benefits of conservation and stability efforts, and the relation and interdependance of rural landscapes with sustainable development.
