The Ottawa Senators will host Black Hockey History Night at their home game against the Anaheim Ducks. A ceremony puck-drop honouring the 125th anniversary of the Coloured Hockey League of the Maritimes (CHLM) will take place prior to the game. Special guests include Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Willie O’Ree, Hazel Lucas and Robert Downey, descendants of former CHLM players, George and Darril Fosty, co-authors of the book Black Ice, and Bob Dawson, sponsor of the Canada Post’s 2020 Black History Month commemorative stamp on the CHLM.
The National Hockey League and American Legacy’s Mobile Museum on Black Hockey History will also be at Canadian Tire Centre. The Mobile Museum on Black Hockey History presents 200 years of hockey achievements using various displays, memorabilia, artifacts from different aspects of Black hockey history.
