Discover the often harsh and somber history of Bytown and Gloucester Township on a guided exploration of the Estate grounds and Settler’s Cemetery at dusk. Experience true tales of death, burial, and disease on a hour-long tour that will take you beyond the typical museum experience to offer a unique glimpse at life and loss in 19th century Ottawa.

Please note:

  • Dress for weather conditions and wear comfortable shoes. The route will include uneven and grassy terrain as well as gravel pathways. If you have questions regarding accessibility, contact the museum at 613-580-2088.
  • The tour may discuss difficult subject (disease, violence, death, etc.). Visitor discretion is advised.
