Join us in celebrating the 20th anniversary of Doors Open Ottawa with a guided tour
focused on the built heritage of Billings Estate National Historic Site, including Ottawa’s
oldest wood-framed house. Today, this former hub of a farming community sits on 8.8 acres
in the Alta Vista neighbourhood. The estate includes a museum in the main house, several
outbuildings, and a cemetery where more than 140 community and family members are
laid to rest.

Takeaway Tea box. Pick-up hours will be extended: 10:30 am to 4 pm. Advance orders are

Please note: Portions of the guided tour will take place outdoors on the museum grounds.
Dress accordingly for weather and select appropriate footwear for gravel, grass, and some
uneven terrain. The museum is located in a historic house. Due to building standards of the
time, not all parts of the museum may be accessible to all. Access to the second floor
