Flavours off the beaten path
From wild foraged sumac juice and tree sap to forest grown shiitake mushrooms, this day is dedicated to some of the weird and wonderful foods grown and foraged in the Gatineau Hills. Geneviève LeGal-Leblanc, of Ferme et Forêt, will guide you through an hour of tasting, smelling and discovering some unusual wild and cultivated foods from her farm. Ferme et Forêt also produces maple syrup, eggs, berries and more, and you will discover how each of these productions are inter-connected, and contribute to a sustainable farming endeavour.
guest speaker: Geneviève LeGal-Leblanc is co-owner of Ferme et Forêt, an ecological farm and wild foods enterprise near Wakefield, QC. She’s a wild forager, maple syrup producer, beekeeper and farmer of berries, eggs, mushrooms and more. She’s an advocate for sustainable wild harvesting and farming, and likes to share her wild foraging skills through hands-on field and forest based workshops.
