Flags of Remembrance Ceremony

October 7, 2017 - 13:00 - 15:00

The Veterans Voices of Canada, Flags of Remembrance pays tribute to the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces and Veterans in a visually stunning display of patriotism. Every year at the opening ceremony, 128 full size Canadian flags are erected along major roadways and other highly visible locations in participating communities, representing 128,000 Canadians killed and missing in action. Each flag is accompanied by a sponsored “hero plaque” recognizing and honoring individual Veterans, past or current serving… a tribute from family, friends and other caring people.

The flags and plaques are raised or unfurled on October 7, and come down after Remembrance Day in November. The key factor that makes this tribute stand out from others is that the flags will be raised at exactly the same moment at all tribute sites across the country.

This year’s ceremony will take place at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Bring the entire family and be a part of this truly special commemorative event.
