Canada Day at the Canada Science and Technology Museum

This Canada Day, bring the whole family to the Canada Science and Technology Museum for an array of fun-filled activities, experiments, and demonstrations that are sure to entertain! Explore our top-notch interactive exhibitions, get up close with demonstrations in the galleries, or catch one of our piping hot and supercool shows on the big Demo Stage. Take part in experiments, engineering challenges, and clever games that will uncover some of Leonardo da Vinci’s extraordinary works.

Tickets to the Leonardo da Vinci – 500 Years of Genius exhibition still apply. Visitors wishing to visit the exhibition will be able to do so by paying the Member rate:

Pyro-Techno, Location: Demo Stage, 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Cryo-Genius, Location: Demo Stage, 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Come and explore the chilling effects of a super-cooled gas! Packed with extremely cool experiments, this presentation shows what impact a liquid that’s colder than ice has on technology.
3, 2, 1…Go! Location: Exploratek, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Get inspired by catapults and trebuchet models from Leonardo da Vinci. How will you tackle this launching challenge?
Reach new heights by hurling projectiles from your very own launcher! Test different combinations to maximize the distance and strength of each shot.
Hands-On Challenges, Location: Hub, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Take part in a range of amusing, hands-on challenges! Take inspiration from the “Renaissance Man” — Leonardo da Vinci — by mastering mirror-writing, or by building his self-supporting Emergency Bridge. You can also test your dexterity, challenge your family and friends to the “electrifying” maple leaf game, and pedal on the energy bike to recharge your phone. Fun for the whole family!
