Historical Society of Ottawa – Speaker Series

Guest Speaker: Sister Louise Charbonneau, Sisters of Charity (Grey Nuns) of Ottawa

Within three months of their arrival in rough & tumble 1845 Bytown, young Elisabeth Bruyere and her small band of Grey Nuns had set up a school, hospital, orphanage and home for the aged. Within two more years they would defy risk of contagion and tend the stricken in the midst of a severe typhus epidemic. Come learn more about these incredibly courageous young women of faith!
