Mississippi Valley Textile Museum: Thank you for the funding for infrastructure improvements

May 29th 2018

The Mississippi Valley Textile Museum acknowledges and thanks the Government of Canada for their continued support in the form of the Canada cultural spaces fund.

This spring the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum (MVTM) received a capital grant from the Government of Canada through the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund (CCSF), to ensure the safety and comfort of visitors to this National Historic Site. We at the MVTM are very proud that, through CCSF, improvement projects have been completed to preserve our iconic building. The MVTM Board of Directors and Executive Director/Curator wish to extend their sincere thanks, and are honoured that the MVTM has been recognized in this way. The Canada Cultural Spaces Fund supports renovation, construction and physical improvements for cultural spaces across Canada. The financial aid of CCSF has allowed us to greatly improve the quality of the MVTM’s exhibit spaces in the form of 12 additional electrical outlets in the Norah Rosamond Hughes Gallery. It has also allowed us to upgrade the security and safety of the building by installing new emergency exit doors in the Gallery. This investment in local heritage has improved the MVTM’s ability to serve the needs of both visitors and exhibitors Investments like this will allow us to provide an innovative look at the history of Canada’s textile industry and to showcase today’s textile artists.
