RTHS is a non-profit organization which strives to promote interest in historical topics and particularly in the people, communities, institutions and industries within the boundaries of the former Township of Rideau.

This Smiths Falls community museum is also a unique Victorian house located on a picturesque stretch of the Rideau Canal. The museum features a mirror-image facade, special exhibition galleries, a private two-story space, spacious gardens and a picnic area.

The Historical Society of Ottawa (HSO) is Ottawa’s oldest historical organization. The principal aim of the Society is to increase public knowledge of the history of Ottawa and the surrounding region through meetings, tours, awards, publications, and sponsored research.

Founded in January 2011, the museum is dedicated to the development and preservation of workers’ history and heritage in the National Capital Region and Ottawa Valley. Our goal is to present, promote, interpret, and preserve workers’ history, heritage, and culture.
